It has been our experience that our client's get the most value and return when they are engaged as a partner in any change initiative that we work on with them. We recognize that they must be inspired by the possibilities of what could be achieved in their organization AND by how they can grow and develop in parallel. Most importantly, we recognize that in partnership, we will be able to define the right challenges that need to be addressed. We equate it to this:
EXPLORE
'Slow down to speed up'. We can be heard saying this to our clients on various engagements. We believe that for the best solution to occur, the right challenge, problem or opportunity needs to be defined. Whether we need to look inwards or outwards, we've got the framework to clarify and converge on what needs to be addressed.
ENERGIZE
We constantly receive feedback that we energize our clients and with that energy they get clarity and focus in their business.
INSPIRE
This is the root of transformation. To be inspired about a future possibility that makes the heavy lifting of change possible.
ENGAGE
Engagement comes from a deeper understanding to the direction of an initiative AND the desire and oportunity to be a part of something that is exciting and consistent with one's value system. Conversations that are meaningful, authentic and can make a difference are at the forefront of engagement in our process.
ENGINEER
What's it going to take to get results? While we often can have a good idea based on our experience and expertise, we ensure that the design to the solutions of your challenges and opportunities are created in partnership for full organizational understanding and ownership. The need may be for strategic, tactical or structural solutions, and the plan created will have considered all three.
IMPLEMENT
This is where the rubber hits the road! While getting to this point looks like it might take a long time, the stages already described work to ensure the implementation is as button down as possible. Making changes inherently means taking risk, therefore the build up to the implementation is to ensure all the risk has been calculated and measured as best as possible. There are structures for follow up and how to manage breakdowns too. And there will be breakdowns. The good news is when effectively handled, they are your access to breakthrough!
We follow this process to ensure that your projects aren't doomed!
Eighty-two percent of employees say there are significant organization-wide initiatives underway in their workplace that will likely fail, and 78 percent say they are personally working on a "doomed" project right now, according to a recent Crucial Conversations Online Survey from Provo, UT-based VitalSmarts. Worse yet, employees often know nearly from the start that it isn't going to work. More than 90 percent of the 600 respondents surveyed say they know early on when projects are likely to fall short, and 77 percent compare their failing projects to "slow motion train wrecks." Talking about the failure-waiting-to-happen isn't easy. Eighty-one percent say approaching a key decision maker about it is almost impossible.
"There is a strong tendency for people to go silent on important issues because they expect the conversation will go badly," says Joseph Grenny, VitalSmarts co-founder and co-author of the book "Crucial Conversations." Encouraging them to speak-up will require a culture change. "If senior leaders can eliminate silence or avoidance within their organizations," he says, "and create cultures where people feel safe openly discussing key issues, they can prevent the failure of high-stakes initiatives."
