Andy SharpeAndy Sharpe is the founder and managing director of Song Division, the global leader in music-based team building. Song Division was the inevitable combination of his two passions, music and business. Three years into a law degree at Sydney University, Australia, Andy's band was signed to ACDC's record label in the UK. The band consisted of school friends who began playing in their early teens, with Andy being one of two main songwriters, playing guitar and keyboards. After four years in London the band broke up and Andy pursued his business interests at IBM for almost 10 years, where he was put through an MBA and held various roles ranging from financial analyst to corporate sales and business redesign. The whole time he continued to write for and produce various artists. In 2003 he was asked to run songwriting workshops for Indigenous school kids in the far north of Australia, an enriching experience for both Andy and the kids. Shortly after a friend and business owner asked him to do the same as a team building experience for his sales team. Word quickly spread; his second client was Australia's largest bank, followed by Virgin Mobile. Andy now oversees Song Division operations in the US, Canada, UK, Middle East, and Asia Pacific. Song Division and Velocity Partnership have a working alliance to further the cause of team work, creativity and community. |
